Middle School Girls Group

Do you notice your daughter experiencing a wider and bigger range of emotions? Is your daughter beginning to pay more attention to who she is? Does it feel like her friend group is or will change soon? Do you desire for her to be able to practice sharing emotions appropriately? Would she find it beneficial to have another place to process?

These are normal and developmentally appropriate transitions from childhood to adolescence. While appropriate, it can sometimes be hard for her and those who love her (you!). This group is a good fit for most girls in 6th- 8th grade. Group members will explore common middle school stressors and develop healthy coping skills. Group members will expand emotional literacy, healthy relationships, friendship skills, advocacy tools, thought life, and effective ways to cope with stress. Through psychoeducation, expressive arts, and mindfulness activities, group members will explore ways to thrive in middle school. We will process a new topic every week as well as current stressors in your daughter’s life.

If this feels like it could be a good fit for your daughter, please reach out to Lauren Herndon to assess together. You can simply use this form or email her directly at Lauren@gracenovacounseling.com.

Come join us this winter! Hot chocolate is always provided.
