Emily Lawyer
Emily is a licensed professional counselor. A former schoolteacher and church staff member, she has many years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. As a therapist, she collaborates with clients to empower them in their growth. Utilizing an integrative, trauma-informed approach that draws from Interpersonal Neurobiology, CBT, DBT, and Narrative therapy, she is passionate about journeying with people as they find healing in a compassionate, empathic environment. Her areas of clinical interest include anxiety, depression, grief and loss through life transitions, and working with those who find themselves in unhealthy relationship patterns.
Emily is a CSAT, certified facilitator in the PREPARE/ENRICH marital assessment, and has completed trainings in the Gottman Method level 1 and EMDR.
She lives in the Falls Church area and loves attending concerts and playing live music, reading, and spending time with friends.
