Emily Baldwin
Emily is a licensed professional counselor who has over a decade of experience working both in private practice and school settings. Emily brings warmth, humor, and compassion to the therapeutic relationship, and she finds great joy in establishing a safe and supportive environment for her clients to practice curiosity, bravery, and creativity as they engage their story.
She draws heavily on polyvagal theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and attachment theory to help clients understand their stories and develop new, more adaptive ways of responding to themselves, others, and the world. Her counseling approach is integrative in nature, with an emphasis on trauma-informed practices.
Emily is trained in EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and DBT. Her areas of specialty include complex trauma, life transitions, anxiety, and depression, and she works with adults and adolescents (ages 14 and up).
Emily lives in Washington, DC. Outside of work, you’ll find her spending time with her family and friends. She finds rest through exploring the city, traveling to Vermont, reading, and art.
