Chelsea Gurney


Chelsea is a Resident in Counseling with over 10 years of mental health care experience. Her background is in social work, life skills coaching, intensive in-home counseling with families, and private practice. Chelsea firmly believes that no matter your situation, there is hope for everyone to live a more healthy and satisfying life. She provides a counseling environment of understanding and care, with a tailored approach to the needs of her clients. 

Her areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship difficulties. She has experience working with youth in foster care, ADHD, suicidal ideation, grief, OCD, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder. She has also provided care for those processing the impact of mental illness and addiction, and other life challenges such as parenting, career and ministry.

Chelsea is a trained EMDR therapist and also utilizes CBT, DBT, Family Systems and Attachment Theory. She works with teens, adults, couples and families.

Chelsea, her husband, and three children live in Northern Virginia.
